Sofia: “I like cooking baked goods like cupcakes and brownies. I learned today about the spices to put in the fried rice.”

“I like to cook quick and simple meals. I like to cook with ground beef, meatloaf, burgers. I learned from the chef today that the heat of the pan draws out the flavor.” —Stacy Smith, Princeton

Toniyah: “I like to cook burgers, I’ve made onion-stuffed burgers. I like to cook eggs, bacon, pancakes. I learned today to not go too hard on your food, take your time, and be patient.”
Aniyah: “I like to cook sweets like cakes, cupcakes, and brownies because I like to be hyper (not super hyper). I learned that you have to have patience and that you have to manage cooking a lot of things at once to make things come together.”

Korein: “I like to cook breakfast foods like eggs. I learned today to cook poached eggs and southwestern chicken stew.”

Leticia: “My favorite thing to cook is enchiladas, something I learned to make from my mom. It’s time consuming but I get the whole family to help in the process with chopping or even putting it together. It is my favorite thing to cook and their favorite thing to eat.
