Katharine Powell and Benjamin Roman

Powell-Roman. Katharine Powell, daughter of Robert and Sharon Powell of Skillman, to Dr. Benjamin Roman, son of Robert Roman of Costa Rica and Rabbi Donna Kirshbaum of Swathmore, Pennsylvania.

The bride-to-be is an actor who made her Broadway debut this past year in Aaron Sorkin’s The Farnsworth Invention. She earned her MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a graduate of Brown University and Princeton Day School. Her father is Managing Director of Nassau Capital Advisors, a real estate brokerage and development firm with offices in Princeton. Her mother is a psychologist and founding president of the Princeton Center for Leadership Training, a Princeton based nonprofit educational organization.

The prospective bridegroom is completing his residency in otolaryngology at New York University. He earned his medical degree with honors from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University. His father is the founding president of an organic food import business. His mother is Rabbi to the String of Pearls congregation in Princeton and recently married Dr. Louis Friedler of Swarthmore.

The wedding is planned for August 2 at the Central Park Boathouse in New York. Rabbi Donna Kirshbaum, mother of the bridegroom will officiate at the ceremony.
