“We will hold people down if Alex [Hewit] has the year we are expecting at goalie,” said Princeton head coach Bill Tierney. “If we can score in double figures, we should win most games.”

Elizabeth Cava and her teammates on the Princeton High girls’ swimming team didn’t know what to expect as they faced undefeated Point Pleasant Beach last Friday in the Public B Central Jersey sectional semifinals.

“We didn’t know what the outcome was going to be so we just swam our hardest,” said Cava, a senior co-captain.

Perkins Works Hard Until the Bitter End as PHS Boys’ Swim Team Falls in States

Tim Perkins sat on the deck in exhaustion after swimming the opening leg in the final relay last Thursday for the Princeton High boys’ swimming team in its sectional semifinal meet at Lawrence High.

Although powerful Lawrence had already clinched the meet by the time Perkins toed the starting block in the 400 free relay, the senior star was determined to give his best effort.

Junior Goalie Jabs Sharp in Prep Title Game but PDS Boys’ Hockey Falls to Mo-Beard

Midway through the second period of the state Prep boys’ hockey championship game last Wednesday, a couple of Morristown-Beard players banged the board in frustration as Princeton Day School goalie Nick Jabs made yet another save.

The PDS junior goalie was on an island, making one stop after another as powerful Mo-Beard controlled the puck and hit Jabs with a barrage of shots.
