Princeton Council Candidates Forum Scheduled for October 6 at Klath Center

To the Editor:

Vote-by-Mail ballots are arriving and, given this year’s uncertainties, voters might hurry to return their completed ballots to the drop boxes at the Municipal Building or the Wawa/Dinky. But they would miss the opportunity to hear from the three candidates for Princeton Council, the first contested election since 2019.

On Tuesday, October 6, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the League of Women Voters of the Greater Princeton Area will partner with the Center for Modern Aging Princeton (CMAP) to host a Princeton Council forum at CMAP’s Nancy S. Klath Center, 101 Poor Farm Road, Building B, and online via Zoom. Online preregistration is requested to attend in person or virtually or to receive a link to the recording at bit.ly/4yktJHm.

Voters may send questions for the candidates by October 4 to lwvprinceton@gmail.com with the subject line “Princeton Council Forum Question.” Questions will also be taken from the audience. A recording of the forum will be available on the League’s website lwvprinceton.org and on CMAP’s Youtube channel youtube.com/@cmaprinceton.

Voters who want more information can go to VOTE411.org, enter their address, and learn about the candidates up and down their ballot. They can watch the video of the League’s recent CD12 forum at lwvprinceton.org. Just remember that those Vote-by-Mail ballots must be postmarked or placed in drop boxes before 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, and cannot be returned to polling places. Voters marked “Vote by Mail” may only vote provisionally at the polls. Most importantly, no matter how or when you do it, vote!
