The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) invites the public to flex their creativity — or discover it — at the ACP’s returning series of BYOB workshops this fall. Designed for the creatively curious, those looking to log off and tap into an in-person experience, folks wanting to try something new, or anyone simply looking for a fun evening out, these workshops offer a chance to learn, make, and connect.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a beverage of their choice and enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere while learning from one of the ACP’s talented teachers. No previous experience is expected or necessary, and sessions are open to all skill levels.
Typical sell-out Wheel Ceramics, led by Sila Jean Stazzone of Jean Ceramics, has two new dates this fall, on Friday, October 2, and Friday, November 6, from 6-8 p.m.
For those who want to take a more experimental approach to ceramics off the wheel, new to the lineup this fall are two workshops combining printmaking and ceramics, taught by ACP Print Studio Manager Dave DiMarchi: Printed Ceramic Coasters is on Friday, September 11, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Printed Ceramic Trinket Dishes is on Friday, December 11, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Rounding out the lineup is Natural Dyed Silk Scarves, held Tuesday, September 22, from 6-8 p.m., led by Jackie Lynn of Thmble & Needle. Participants will create a one-of-a-kind silk scarf using blooms picked straight from Jackie’s garden. And Suminagashi Paper Marbling, taught by multidisciplinary artist Elizabeth Massa on Thursday, November 12, from 6:30-8 p.m., offers a low stress, meditative, and playful way to make something handmade.
The Arts Council of Princeton is at 102 Witherspoon Street. For more information and to register, visit artscouncilofprinceton.org.
