“GHOST OF DOLOMITES”: This work by Samuel Vovsi of Princeton was named Best in Show at the “Mercer County Photography 2024” exhibition hosted by Trenton City Museum with the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission. Entries for this year’s show, on view September 11 through October 11, will be accepted on September 5 at Trenton City Museum in Cadwalader Park, Trenton.
Photographers aged 18 and up who live, work, or study in Mercer County are invited to enter up to two photographs for consideration in the juried “Mercer County Photography 2026” exhibition. The juror for this year is award-winning photographer Aubrey J. Kauffman of Ewing. Entry drop-off is on Saturday, September 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie, which is hosting the exhibition for the third time.

“Mercer County Photography 2026” opens on Friday, September 11, and will be on view through October 11. The reception and awards ceremony is on Sunday, September 19, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
The biennial exhibition is made possible by funds from the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
Kauffman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from New Jersey City University and completed his Master of Fine Arts in visual arts at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of Art and Design. His work has been exhibited throughout the region, with notable exhibitions at the Newark Museum, Rider University Art Gallery, New Jersey State Museum, Morris Museum, Seventh and 2nd Street Gallery in New York City, and The Biggs Museum of American Art. His photographs have also been shown at Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts. His work is included in several permanent collections, including the New Jersey State Museum, Rider University, and Johnson & Johnson’s corporate headquarters in New Brunswick. His art is also held in numerous private collections.
Trenton City Museum, housed in historic Ellarslie Mansion in Cadwalader Park, Trenton, showcases contemporary works by area artists and ongoing and changing displays that explore Trenton’s history as well as varied performances and family-friendly programming. It is open Thursday through Saturday 12 to 4 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. There is no admission fee, but donations to support the museum’s programs are appreciated.
