Summer Chamber Concerts Continue in Doylestown

The Lenape Chamber Ensemble’s Summer Gala Concerts conclude this Saturday, July 25, with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra joining ensemble musicians at the Life Sciences Auditorium of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa.

The 8 p.m. program includes Mozart’s String Quintet No. 2 in C minor; Darius Milhaud’s Sonata for Two Violins and Piano, Op. 15; and Antonin Dvorák’s String Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 97. Performing are violinist Christine Lim, associate concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra and a past soloist with the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Euro-Asia Philharmonic and a founding member of Quartet Iris; and violinist Julia Li, a past soloist with the Houston Symphony and part of the Curtis on Tour to Asia in Shanghai, Beijing, and Seoul, and a founding member of Quartet Iris.

Also: violist Burchard Tang, who served as principal of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, has performed at the Marlboro, Ravinia, and Seattle Chamber Music Festivals and is a founding member of the Dolce Suono Ensemble; cellist Yumi Kendall, assistant principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and a participant in Music from Angel Fire, the Marlboro Festival, and the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, and a founding member of Quartet Iris; and ensemble violist Nancy Bean, a past soloist with the Seattle Symphony, the Seattle Philharmonic and the Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia, and past assistant concertmaster of the Santa Fe Opera Company; and pianist Marcantonio Barone, who has performed with orchestras on four continents and had solo recitals in London; St. Petersburg; New York City; Washington, D.C.; and Philadelphia.
