The Mercer County Library System (MCLS) has announced its annual Amateur Photo Contest, inviting photographers of all ages to capture this year’s theme: “A Moment in Our Story.”

The theme encourages participants to reflect on the moments that shape our lives and communities. Whether it’s a cherished family tradition, a community celebration, a personal milestone, or a meaningful everyday experience, photographers are invited to tell a story through a single image.

“Each year, we look forward to seeing the incredible talent of Mercer County residents on display through this contest,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “I’m excited to see how the members of our community capture the moments, traditions, and vibrancy, that make Mercer so special.”

The contest is open to all amateur photographers who live, work, or attend school in Mercer County. Submit your photograph to your local branch. Entries will be accepted from Monday, August 10, through Monday, September 14. A panel of judges from each branch will choose three photos, which will then be evaluated by a final panel. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place.
