“Under the Same Sky” at Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville

“EVENING LIGHT”: This work by Joe Kazimierczyk is part of “Under the Same Sky,” his dual exhibition with Beatrice Bork, on view June 4 through July 5 at Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville. An Artists’ Reception is on June 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.

“Under the Sky,” at Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville June 4 through July 5, invites viewers to step into the shared world of two artists whose work is inspired by time spent outdoors. The exhibition rings together the wildlife paintings of Beatrice Bork and the landscapes of Joe Kazimierczyk, offering complementary visions of the places they both cherish.

A Meet the Artists reception will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 5 to 7 pm.

For anyone who enjoys birdwatching, walking woodland trails, or simply spending time in the natural world, this exhibition offers a chance to slow down and look more closely. Though their subjects differ — Bork’s intimate portrayals of birds and wildlife and Kazimierczyk’s expansive vistas — their art converges in a celebration of the land, water, and sky that connect them. Often drawn to the same familiar habitats, the artists reveal how a single environment can inspire vastly different yet harmonious interpretations.

“TWIZZLE”: This acrylic painting by Beatrice Bork is featured in “Under the Same Sky,” her joint exhibition with Joe Kazimierczyk, on view June 4 through July 5 at Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville.

Bork is celebrated for her detailed, expressive water-media paintings of birds and wildlife. Her work goes beyond anatomical accuracy to capture the distinct temperament and fleeting behaviors of her subjects.

“I’m often drawn to species that I feel a personal connection to,” said Bork. “When I paint, I’m not just recording what I observed — I’m translating my own response to that animal. Sometimes the connection is very direct, and other times the bird becomes a way to express something more internal through the painting.”

This year, Bork was named a finalist in the Painting category of the Individual Artist Fellowship program from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Kazimierczyk’s work serves as the atmospheric counterpart to Bork’s intimate portraits. His paintings explore the structural beauty of the land, ranging from quiet woodland interiors to expansive, luminous skyscapes. Inspired by countless hours hiking, Kazimierczyk translates the physical experience of nature onto the canvas.

“I strive to capture a specific sense of place,” he said. “My hope is that viewers feel the same profound appreciation for these environments that I felt while standing within them.”

Together, Bork and Kazimierczyk’s works create a dialogue between the intimate and the expansive — the wildlife subject and the landscape it inhabits. “Under the Same Sky” invites viewers to pause, explore, and rediscover the natural world through the eyes of two artists who find wonder in the same horizons.
