Rubina Brings Thoughtful, Solutions-oriented Approach to Town’s Most Pressing Challenges

To the Editor:

I am proud to support Marina Rubina for Princeton Council. Like Marina, I hope that my children will have the opportunity to live in Princeton as adults and continue to experience the vibrancy that makes this community so special.

As a longtime neighbor of Marina in the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood and a fellow member of Princeton Future, I have seen firsthand her deep commitment to our town. She brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to some of Princeton’s most pressing challenges — particularly affordability and diversity.

Too often, well-intentioned government rules become overly complex and burdensome, leading to unintended consequences. In Princeton, this is especially true in land use and zoning, where outdated and overly restrictive regulations contribute to high housing costs, frustrated residents, and barriers to a more inclusive and resilient community.

Marina stands out in her ability to confront these issues with both expertise and empathy. As a mother, immigrant, housing and transportation advocate, architect (Marina has committed to divesting her Princeton-based architecture practice to avoid any future conflicts of interest), and podcaster, she brings a uniquely informed perspective and a tireless focus on practical, forward-looking solutions.

If you believe in sensible policies that make it possible for young families, public servants, and longtime residents to live and thrive in Princeton — while also making our local rules more workable for homeowners and businesses — I encourage you to support Marina Rubina for Council.
