“Parted Light” Photo Exhibit Opening at Wynter Gallery

“PARTED LIGHT”: This work by Tejasvir is featured in a new photographic exhibition at Wynter Gallery in Lambertville. An opening reception is on April 10 and an Artist Talk is on April 12.

Wynter Gallery presents “Parted Light,” a new photographic exhibition by Detroit-based photographer Tejasvir, opening with a reception of Friday, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. Shown publicly for the first time, the work explores the memory and legacy of a once-whole Punjab, a place that feels like home yet no longer fully exists. All of the photographs in this exhibition were made in Pakistan, offering subtle, luminous glimpses of the light and life that once were.

Drawing deeply on his upbringing in Suwanee, Georgia, his early training in Indian classical music, and his education at Carnegie Mellon University, Tejasvir infuses his work with a profoundly personal touch. His ongoing project, “Parted Light,” is shaped by his travels to India, where he explores Punjab and his own questions of home, belonging, and Sikh identity. Guided by empathy and a desire to understand others, Tejasvir creates photographs around the world that quietly pursue life’s more subtle and profound beauties. Part of a much larger narrative that Tejasvir plans to continue unfolding, these photographs offer a unique visual perspective on a region and history seldom explored through fine art photography.

Through intimate portraiture, evocative depictions of everyday life, and a personal lens on the architecture that shaped Punjab, viewers are transported across the world and invited to discover the shared humanity that connects us all. As these subjects step into the light, viewers are invited to do the same and immerse themselves in Tejasvir’s masterful work.

An Artist Talk with Tejasvir is on Sunday, April 12, from 12 to 2 p.m. RSVP at wyntergallery.com.

Wynter Gallery is at 4 South Union Street, Lambertville. Hours are Thursday and Friday, 12 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 12 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit wyntergallery.com.
