“ALL THINGS WILD AND WONDERFUL”: An exhibition of paintings by Scottish artist Georgina McMaster will be on view at the Center of Theological Inquiry through April 24. An Open House is on April 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Center of Theological Inquiry (CTI) presents an exhibition of paintings by Scottish artist Georgina McMaster. The featured collection, “All Things Wild and Wonderful,” depicts the four living creatures described in Ezekiel and Revelation — lion, eagle, ox, and man — symbolizing God’s glory and the fullness of creation.
A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, McMaster began with figurative painting before returning to her enduring love of wildlife. Her early paintings of hares won several prizes, and in 2007 she received the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow Award at the Royal Glasgow Institute’s First-Time Exhibitor show, followed by the David Cargill Award in 2008. Her work is now held in collections worldwide.
Rooted in a lifelong fascination with wildlife, McMaster’s art reflects years of close observation in Scotland and abroad, including time in Kenya’s Masai Mara, Finland, and India’s Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she creates intimate yet expansive portraits in which animals emerge from spare, atmospheric settings — inviting contemplation and deeper attention to the natural world.
The public is invited to an open house on Sunday, April 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Center of Theological Inquiry, 50 Stockton Street. Guests may meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. The exhibition will remain on view during regular business hours through April 24.
