Thanking All Who Supported 17th Annual Princeton 5K and Kids Dash

To the Editor:

Congratulations to the more than 700 runners, joggers, walkers, sponsors, cheerers, volunteers, and student-athletes who participated in Saturday’s 17th annual Princeton 5K and Kids Dash, the annual fundraising event put on by the PHS Cross Country and Track & Field Boosters, a 501(c)(3), to support these student-athletes.

So much of what makes a healthy and vibrant community was on display this brisk spring morning. People cheering people, kids laughing, healthy exercise, local business support, and shared experience. Each finisher was welcomed across the finish line with enthusiastic cheers from spectators. Medals were awarded to the top three overall female, male, and nonbinary finishers, and to the top three finishers in designated age groups. To encourage the next generation of student-athletes, the most participatory PPS elementary school was awarded a traveling trophy. Congratulations Riverside Elementary School!

We also appreciate the Princeton Public Schools district and its facilities staff for allowing us to stage the post-race village at the PHS PAC, and the Princeton Police Department, Newman Racing, and the dozens of volunteers, and coaches who came together to ensure a safe and festive community event and race.

It’s so inspiring to see what can be created when people come together to support one another. We hope to see you all next March for the 2027 Princeton 5K and Kids Dash!
