Noting that Jon Durbin Holds Himself and Organizations He Leads to High Ethical Standards

To the Editor:

Having worked closely with Jon Durbin for more than 15 years on various political causes, I am pleased to support him for a seat on Princeton Council.

In his 20-plus years of community service, Jon has held a number of positions in Democratic politics in the municipality and is well-equipped to lead us into the future. He was the last chair of the Township Democratic Committee before consolidation and president of the Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) for the first three years after consolidation. During that term, Jon was one of the leaders who made Princeton the first municipality in Mercer County to put all candidates, whether they received the committee’s endorsement or not, in the same column to encourage competitive elections. PCDO under his leadership was also a driving force in flipping our legislative district from a decades-long solidly Republican seat of power by electing Andrew Zwicker and breaking that Republican stronghold.

Jon’s work extends beyond Princeton, as he has been a member of the Mercer County Democratic Committee’s executive board for 15 years, representing Princeton’s voice in county matters.

Jon holds himself and the organizations he leads to high ethical standards, and he is not only adept and clear-minded at seeing what has to be done, but he does the nitty-gritty work to ensure success — traits he will assuredly bring to Council.
