As a longtime Princeton resident, I am writing to support David Cohen’s candidacy for Princeton Council.
I believe I first met David on a “field trip” to Trenton Renewables, way back in 2019. At the time, this company was just starting up, with a plan to convert organic waste to energy and compost through the process of anaerobic digestion. (This company is the location to which all our collected food scraps are sent.) Later, I had a chance to work with David on SPRAB before it was disbanded. In that capacity, as well as on the Zoning Board, helped by his background in architecture, David has been a consistent and forceful proponent for sustainable design. He helped to finalize the Green Development Checklist and has been involved in exploring ways to persuade developers to employ more sustainable building practices; a part of the Princeton Climate Action Plan. The time, thought, and energy that he has brought to these endeavors and to the many other activities with which he is involved are more than commendable, they are amazing.
His strong, reasonable, and persuasive voice is one that Princeton needs to keep in our local government.
