ON CAMPUS: Works by Marina Ahun, featuring buildings at Princeton University, are on view in an exhibition at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Fox & Roach Realtors, 253 Nassau Street.

Artist Marina Ahun has unveiled a new exhibition at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Fox & Roach Realtors, 253 Nassau Street. The exhibition features the artist’s unique and detailed architectural renderings of the Princeton University campus and highlights her work of New York City.

Ahun honors the spirit of Princeton University’s beautiful buildings. Her architectural paintings are created with accurate perspective and foundation. She masterfully brings together the elements of exquisite drawing, magic of light and shadow, subtle coloration, and brilliantly conceived compositions. All of these factors work together to give a true sense of these buildings. Ahun became Princeton University’s only licensed and commissioned artist.

Ahun’s artworks showcase strong, powerful images rendered in different styles ranging from a pure realistic portrait of a building to expressionist paintings where some of the architectural features become almost abstract. Ahun invites viewers to immerse themselves in this lively world of visual paradoxes with an inverted side of reality and hidden allusions. It’s very eclectic in that the shapes and reflections beg to be matched in different and maybe better combinations. You can get “lost” in seeing the various unintentional images that show up in reflections. The buildings are just the starting point for a journey into the illusionary space portrayed on her canvases. Marina’s paintings can be viewed at marinaahun.com.
