To the Editor:
Among the fine candidates running for Council, the reelection of David Cohen uniquely merits the support of our community not just for his integrity and endless appetite for hard work, but for the continuity required for implementing policies promoting resident safety on our streets and crosswalks.
During my years serving with David on the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee (PBAC), I can vouch for his ability to deftly find solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders with different priorities. He is one of those people who truly engages, listens, thinks with an open mind and then lets everyone know where he stands. David has been a tireless promotor of Princeton’s multi-pronged approach to traffic safety — improved roadway design, user education, and rules enforcement.
His most recent initiatives have been to work with the Parent & Teacher’s Organization Council (PTOC) to ensure all our children have Safe Routes to School. Enabling David Cohen to continue his work on the Council’s Traffic Safety Committee, with PBAC, and with the PTOC should be a priority for every Princetonian who walks our sidewalks, rides a bicycle or drives a car –- in other words, everyone.
