To the Editor:
We are writing to share our strong support for Jon Durbin for Princeton Council. As voters consider their vote for in the Democratic primary this June, they should know that Jon is the epitome of someone who is civic-minded. A salt-of-the-earth kind of guy who reminds you of the characters played by Jimmy Stewart. He’s honest, decent, reliable, and humble. He is naturally inclined to help others and actively tries to make Princeton better for everyone. Jon has shown that through years in youth sports and through community organizing for the Democratic party. He has a strong, active concern for the well-being of others — it really is just who he is.
Additionally, Jon has the nuts and bolts experience gained as a publishing company executive to get things done. Some of his priorities if elected are to keep the town affordable through prudent fiscal management, to have social and economic equity top of mind, and to build on Princeton’s culture of sustainability … including finding an equitable way to eliminate the noise pollution caused by gas leaf blowers.
If you have not already met Jon, you may get a chance, as he is an active door knocker. He’s always ready for a conversion and to learn what people think and have to say. He will be honest with you about his positions and curious what yours are. So, if you’re looking to put a hardworking, smart, experienced, and caring person on the Council, cast a vote for Jon Durbin.
