“THREE HOUSES”: Works by Hank Bristol are at the Present Day Club on Stockton Street February 27 through March 30. An opening reception is on February 27 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Hank Bristol is no stranger to the Present Day Club. His mother, Louise Bristol, was a longtime member. He displayed his early seascapes in watercolor there in the early ’80s. Then in the ’90s, as a more seasoned artist, he was welcomed for a second show. Now, as a third act, Bristol returns February 27 through March 30 for a solo display of his current work.
An opening reception is on Friday, February 27 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Bristol grew up sailing and swimming at the Jersey Shore. In college, he was on the sailing team, and also studied art history and black and white photography. In graduate school, he studied architecture in Italy and Virginia. His current work reflects abstract value studies as well as realistic coastal scenes.
His shows, both group and individual, have ranged from New Jersey to Maine. Most recently, his work was shown at the Nassau Club (2024). Bristol is an ordained deacon (Episcopal) and retired middle school teacher.
The Present Day Club is at 22 Stockton Street. Exhibition viewings are on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call (609) 924-1014 for an appointment.
