NJ Music Teachers Hold “Performathon”

CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN: Young musicians from across New Jersey will present a music marathon at two locations this weekend, to benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses in the state.

The New Jersey Music Teachers Association will present its annual Children Helping Children Performathon from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 28 at Steinway & Sons on Route 1; and on Sunday, February 1 between 2 and 8 p.m. at the Arts Council of Princeton.

This community event will feature more than 200 student musicians performing across 15 recitals throughout the weekend. The following weekend, there will be a few more recitals in Cherry Hill at Cunningham Piano Store.

The Performathon highlights the talent, dedication, and generosity of young musicians from across the region. Students of all ages will take the stage to share their music to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald Houses in Central New Jersey, which provide housing, comfort, and support to families with seriously ill children receiving medical treatment in the adjacent hospitals.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to use their musical gifts to make a positive impact in the lives of other children and families,” said Betty Stoloff of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association. “We are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment to giving back.”

Community members are invited to attend. Donations will be accepted throughout the event. In addition, donations can be sent online to the Ronald McDonald House at rmh-cnj.org. For more information, visit njmta.com.
