On Saturday, March 14 at 1 and 3 p.m., Princeton University Concerts (PUC) welcomes Rami Vamos and the Bayberry String Quartet for a “Little Listeners” performance geared to children 3-6 and their families, adapted for neurodiverse audiences including children with autism or other special needs.
The program at Richardson Auditorium lets kids discover how time makes music special. They will feel the steady beat (like music’s very own heart), tap along to rhythms, and zoom fast or slow with tempo. Along the way, they will see how music can match feelings, whether happy, sleepy, or ready to dance.
Host Rami Vamos and the Bayberry String Quartet will bring little listeners on an interactive journey, exploring works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák, Rorem, and Leroy Anderson.
Tickets are $6 for children, and $11 for adults. Visit puc.princeton.edu/admit-all or call (609) 258-9220. Discounted tickets are available to members of the Admit All ticket access program; Admit All patrons can reserve $6 tickets for adults and free tickets for children, up to four tickets total.
“We’re happy to introduce ‘Little Listeners’ to music they will love for a lifetime,” says PUC Director Marna Seltzer. “Kids and adults alike enjoy our ‘All in the Family’ concerts, where they can play with and learn about classical music. We are honored to offer this afternoon of music for local families at the lowest ticket prices in the region.”
