Meet artists Gwen Toma, Eliza Auth, Carol Potter, and Joseph Sweeney for an Artist’s Talk and introduction to their exhibit, “Where Land Meets Sea,” at the Donald Swanagan Gallery in The Cranbury Public Library on February 7 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
“Where Land Meets Sea” is a collection of landscapes and seascapes created plein air and in studio by a group of four fellow-traveling artists and friends from Cranbury and the Philadelphia area. Paintings depict scenery from New Jersey, Maine, and Hawaii to Ireland and St. George’s, Bermuda. The exhibition runs through the end of March.
Visitors can view a variety of artistic styles, perspectives, and media while learning about the artists and their transatlantic art. “The exhibit reflects our plein air and studio paintings inspired by our travel from near and afar,” said Toma. “Whether we’re painting plein air (outdoors) at an easel or in-studio from photographs taken during our travels, we hope to transport the viewer to some of our favorite places with our art.”
The Cranbury Public Library is at 30 Park Place West, Cranbury. Toma will donate 15 percent of art sales to The Cranbury Public Library Foundation. For more information, contact Toma at gwentoma13@gmail.com.
