State Theatre Program Broadens Arts Access

ARTS FOR ALL: A concert at State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick, where the DiscoveryTix Program returns for the 2026 season.

State Theatre New Jersey has announced that its flagship DiscoveryTix Program returns for the 2026 season through a new collaboration with Johnson & Johnson.

DiscoveryTix was first launched in 2022 to broaden access to the arts, providing $10 tickets to all State Theatre-presented performances for individuals who participate in public assistance programs such as WIC, SNAP, Medicaid, and the New Jersey Families First Discovery Program. The program ensures that all members of the community — regardless of income — can enjoy performances at the New Brunswick venue.

“State Theatre serves as a cultural cornerstone, enhancing the lives of individuals from all walks of life across New Jersey,” said Sarah K. Chaplin, president and CEO of State Theatre New Jersey. “Through the DiscoveryTix Program, we’re making our wide range of live performances more accessible — bringing people together through shared experiences that foster lasting connections with the performing arts.”

Since the historic State Theatre reopened as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988, it has been committed to making performing arts and arts education accessible through free and heavily subsidized tickets to our most vulnerable populations. State Theatre New Jersey’s mission is to present the finest national and international performing artists, to provide arts education programs to build future arts lovers and leaders. State Theatre strives to make the arts available, accessible, and inclusive — for all.

By lowering financial barriers, State Theatre New Jersey and Johnson & Johnson demonstrate their mutual dedication to strengthening communities by making the arts accessible to everyone. Johnson & Johnson has been a longtime supporter of the DiscoveryTix Program, making it possible for families to enjoy enriching cultural experiences.

DiscoveryTix $10 tickets must be purchased in-person at State Theatre New Jersey’s box office, 15 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. Eligible purchasers must present either a valid New Jersey Families First Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, eWIC EBT card, or Medicaid Benefit Identification Card (BIC) in-person at State Theatre Guest Services.
