ART AT THE MILL: Members, artists, and visitors gather at the Open House at last year’s Mill Members Art Show and Sale at Phillips’ Mill in New Hope, Pa. Shown in the foreground is Sue Eaton’s wire sculpture, “Pounce,” which won the People’s Choice Award. This year’s Open House is on March 7.
Registration for the Phillips’ Mill Community Association’s Third Annual Mill Members Art Show and Sale opens February 1 through February 21. The show prospectus is available for review for details at phillipsmill.org.
The Mill Members Art Show and Sale is an unjuried exhibition showcasing the work of the Mill’s many talented members. The show includes traditional types of works — painting, drawing, works on paper, sculpture, printmaking, etc. — as well as fine crafts including textiles, ceramics, and jewelry, plus digital art and photography. All Mill members are encouraged to submit. And all artists interested in participating are encouraged to join Phillips’ Mill, which can be done easily on the Mill’s website while reviewing the prospectus.
Artists are urged to submit their work early. Members have enthusiastically entered the show since it was introduced in 2024. Once enough work has been submitted to fill the Mill, submissions may be forced to close early.
The show will be on view at the Mill for two weekends, Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8; and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 13, 14, and 15, from 1 to 5 p.m. An Open House celebration will be held on Saturday, March 7.
Phillips’ Mill Community Association was founded in 1929 by William Lathrop, Daniel Garber, Edward Redfield, Fern Coppedge, and their many artist friends and colleagues as a place to meet, socialize, and exhibit their work. Recognized as the Birthplace of Pennsylvania Impressionism, the Mill has served the region’s creative community for nearly a century.
Phillips’ Mill Community Association is at 2619 River Road, New Hope, Pa. For more information, call (215) 882-0582 or visit phillipsmill.org.
