The Kelsey Theatre has a full schedule beginning early in 2026.
From January 2 to 11, the theater at Mercer County Community College features the musical She Loves Me, with a book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, based on the play Parfumerie.
Performances by Off-Centre Stages are Fridays on January 2 and 9, at 8 p.m.; Saturday evenings on January 3 and 10 at 8 p.m.; Saturday matinees on January 3 and 10 at 2 p.m.; and Sundays on January 4 and 11 at 2 p.m.
In the show, Amalia and Georg work together at a Hungarian parfumerie and dislike each other, he, thinking she is stuck up, and she thinking he is arrogant and mean. But each rapturously writes to a lonely-hearts pen pal when the work day is done, and the two fall in love through their anonymous letters. The show is one of several adaptations that led to the film You’ve Got Mail.
The season continues with George Bernard Shaw’s Arms and The Man, from January 16 to January 25, presented by Shakespeare 70. Shows are Fridays on January 16 and 23 at 8 p.m.; Saturday evening on January 17 at 8 p.m.; Saturday matinee on January 24 at 2 p.m.; and Sunday matinees on January 18 and 25 at 2 p.m.
One of Shaw’s most enduringly popular comedies follows a hunted soldier who, seeking refuge in a young lady’s boudoir, starts in motion a series of unlikely comedic events. His unusual philosophies about life in general open up a world of thought she’s never previously entertained, not with her dashing war-hero fiancée who also arrives unexpectedly. This early work of Shaw’s is an examination of romance, sex, love, political maneuverings, war, and hope.
The season continues with the play Gaslight, presented by Theater to Go; the musical The Prom, presented by Thank You 5 Productions; Jethro Tull’s “Aqualung” presented by Reock & Roll Revue; Clue, Live on Stage, presented by Bear Tavern Project; One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, presented by the MTM Players; Encanto: Interactive Movie Event, presented by Theater to Go; The 39 Steps, presented by Maurer Productions OnStage; Cosmic Campfire Chronicles, presented by Tomato Patch Jr. and Bear Tavern Project; Seussical the Musical, presented by Theater to Go; Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, presented by Shakespeare 70; and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, presented by the Yardley Players. The season ends with Stephen Sondheim’s Company, from Off-Centre Stages.
