“SIMPLY ME”: Local photographer Felix Bird has launched a limited edition black-and-white portrait series that benefits the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry.
Local portrait photographer Felix Bird has launched “Simply Me” — a limited edition black-and-white portrait series that celebrates the individuality of local children while raising funds for the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry (PMFP).
“’Simply Me’ is all about capturing your child’s true personality — natural, timeless, and full of character. It’s about making kids feel special and building their confidence,” said Bird. “These portraits aren’t meant to be perfect; they’re meant to be real.”
Designed for children aged 2–10, “Simply Me” sessions are intentionally un-posed and fun.
“I even avoid asking kids to smile — it’s meant to be the opposite of a typical family photo session,” said Bird. “They get to be the center of attention. We play their favorite music, and they can bring outfits, costumes, toys, stuffed animals — anything that shows who they are right now.”
Sessions are fun and stress-free, giving kids the freedom to laugh, make faces, and just be themselves. Parents can then purchase their favorite images during a personalized viewing appointment and can order heirloom-quality prints and wall art designed to last for generations.
Each session costs $100, and 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry to help local families facing food insecurity. Bird hopes to raise at least $2,000 for PMFP’s mission of delivering fresh produce and essentials to more than 250 families each week.
Only 20 spots are available for this project. In the new year, participants will be featured in a pop-up gallery show, where the children will see their portraits displayed in an exhibition setting.
