This fall, Artworks Trenton hosts an exhibition 25 years in the making. “Breaking the Frame,” spotlighting the Trenton Community A-Team (TCAT), runs through November 26 with an opening reception on Friday, November 7 at 6 p.m.
What began in 2000 as a small group of five artists working out of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) has grown into a thriving collective of creators, mentors, and visionaries. Over the past quarter century, TCAT has provided self-taught artists with space, resources, and community, empowering them to share their voices and reshape perceptions of who makes art and why.
“Breaking the Frame” brings together artwork spanning TCAT’s entire history, from its earliest expressive works to bold new pieces created today. The exhibition invites audiences to look beyond stereotypes and into the vibrant, creative lives of Trenton’s artists.
“We are thrilled to celebrate TCAT’s 25-year journey by sharing our story on the walls of Artworks,” says TCAT Director Anthony Catanese. “Our artists are incredibly proud to have their work featured in one of Trenton’s most respected galleries. This exhibition is a powerful reminder of the creativity and spirit that define our community.”
Artworks Trenton is at 19 Everett Alley in Trenton. For more information, visit artorkstrenton.org.
