Artworks Trenton Presents Two New Exhibitions

Artworks Trenton presents two exhibitions this fall: “Depths of My Sole” by FlyKickz in the Main Gallery, and “Breaking the Frame” by the Trenton Community A-Team (TCAT) in the Community Gallery. Both exhibitions run through November 26, with a joint opening reception on Friday, November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Artworks Trenton, 19 Everett Alley.

In “Depths of My Sole,” FlyKickz unveils more than 25 new works crafted entirely from upcycled sneakers. Through leather, laces, and repurposed materials, she transforms sneaker culture into a fine art narrative that honors family, passion, and individuality. Visitors can also join the Artist Talk with FlyKickz on Saturday, November 15, from 12 to 2 p.m. to hear about her process and inspiration.

“FlyKickz’s creative flair for turning sneakers into works of art is unparalleled,” said Addison Vincent, artistic director at Artworks Trenton. “Her kindness and dedication to community make her a true force in the Trenton art scene.”

“Breaking the Frame” celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Trenton Community A-Team (TCAT). The exhibition highlights the work of self-taught artists from the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen community who challenge stereotypes and showcase resilience through creativity.

“We’re honored to share TCAT’s 25-year journey on the walls of Artworks,” said Anthony Catanese, TCAT director. “This exhibition reminds us of the strength and spirit that define our artists.”
Together, these exhibitions embody Artworks Trenton’s mission to make art accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for all. Learn more at artworkstrenton.org.
