The “59th Annual New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show” is on view at Meadow Lakes Senior Living, 300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, through Thursday, November 6.
The exhibition features more than 300 works of art, and marks the culmination of local senior citizen art shows held throughout New Jersey this year. All featured works were First Place winners in their local show, with 20 of the state’s 21 counties represented.
The exhibit includes works by both professional and non-professional artists across 11 categories: acrylic, craft, digital art, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, print, sculpture, watercolor, and works on paper.
All artwork will be evaluated by a panel of three professional artists. Judges will select First, Second, and Third Place winners, as well as Honorable Mentions in each category. One non-professional and one professional piece will be awarded Best in Show.
“It’s always exciting to see the best work of New Jersey’s senior artists gathered in one place,” said Mercer County Executive Dan Benson. “We’re honored to once again host this exhibition with the State Council on the Arts, and to celebrate the talent and creativity on display.”
This annual exhibition is a collaborative project of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Mercer County’s Division of Culture & Heritage.
An awards ceremony and closing reception will be held later this fall to honor the participating artists and present awards.
Exhibit hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Groups of six or more are asked to call ahead at (609) 448-4100.
