To the Editor:
Not everybody realizes that the gubernatorial race in New Jersey is currently too close for comfort, and could go either way. Indeed, if the trend continues, Mikie Sherrill could lose, with monumental implications not only for our state, but for the country and for the world too.
In the last gubernatorial election, only 38 percent of registered voters actually voted in Mercer County, and the percentage was lower in other counties. We need to do much, much better than that in this election, if we want to ensure that New Jersey remains a firewall in defense of healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, civil rights, and democracy.
Everything is now in our hands, and the results depend on how we manage to mobilize voters in New Jersey. Please contact your friends, and ask them to vote and make sure that their friends vote.
Let’s wish ourselves the best of luck!
