A new season, a new opportunity to look your best!
Putting your “best” face forward is a special way to spotlight a vibrant new look, and Radiant Touch Skincare Bar is ready to help you accomplish what can even be a transformation. Just opened last December, it is located in the Ellsworth Village Square, 9 Cranbury Road in Princeton Junction.
As owner and cosmetologist Nataliya Anisimova points out, “The skin is our largest organ, and it is so important that it is taken care of properly.”
She is in a special position to do just that. Helping people of all ages and with a variety of skin conditions is her goal. She is committed to improve and repair new or longstanding damage to their skin, and educate them in ways to prevent further damage.
“Health and Wellness”
Born in Ukraine, Nataliya has lived and worked in Istanbul, Turkey, for 18 years. She is a certified cosmetologist in Turkey, Russia, the U.S, and the UAE, and is also certified as a CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) in New Jersey. In addition, Anisimova completed a course at Harvard Medical School, and is certified in Health and Wellness: Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan.
Arriving in the U.S. two years ago, it was her wish to share her cosmetology skills, special procedures, and high quality products with clients here.
“At Radiant Touch Skincare Bar, we provide exceptional skincare and wellness services. setting ourselves apart by adhering to the highest European Union standards in cosmetology,” she says. “Our commitment to quality is reflected in the use of high-quality dermatological and cosmeceutical products that are developed and rigorously tested by leading Europe laboratories, and are used by the majority of dermatologists, pharmacists, and cosmetologists in Eastern and Western Europe and the Middle East.”
She notes that in the past, many people in the U.S. considered facials and various skincare procedures as a luxury, unlike people in Europe, especially Eastern Europe, who looked upon it as a necessity. “It is considered an essential,” Anisimova explains, “and many mothers start bringing in their daughters at age 12. They think of it as a regular need, such as regular checkups at the dentist or doctor. We also strongly believe in educating clients in the importance of understanding proper care of the skin.”
Many Benefits
Her clients are both men and women, and currently range in age from 12 to 78. It is never too early or too late. Adopting a regular and correct skincare regimen will bring many benefits over the years, she believes.
When Nataliya meets a client for the first time, she provides a careful skin evaluation. “First, I always listen to the client’s concerns. I will ask what his or her motivation and goals are. They may have specific preferences for treatments. Initially, we conduct a thorough assessment of the client’s skin, analyzing their current skincare routine and products. Based on this information, we summarize the skin’s condition, evaluate the efficacy and safety of their products, and make any necessary adjustments to the home regimen. Then, we develop an annual treatment plan that incorporates seasonal, age-related skin concerns.
“It is crucial to emphasize that maintaining 30 percent of skin health requires regular visits to the cosmetologist. The remaining 70 percent is contingent upon the client’s daily home care practices. This also includes diet, sleep, and activities, including sports.”
“We believe in a comprehensive, holistic approach that includes your skin, lifestyle, and diet,” she continues. “Our personalized skincare plans adapt to seasonal changes, health issues, and stress, and are tailored to each client’s unique needs.”
Nataliya treats clients with many skin types, and various conditions, including rosacea, eczema, acne, and hyperpigmentation, among others. Care includes use of high quality, medically-evaluated European products, she adds.
“Mediderma and Sesderma are part of the same Spanish company, founded by dermatologist Dr. Gabriel Serrano. Sesderma specializes in dermocosmetic products for the consumer market, while Mediderma provides professional dermatological and aesthetic treatments and devices for medical professionals. Their headquarters are in Spain. and they are renowned for their innovative technologies, particularly nanotechnology.
Innovative Treatment
“CMed Asesthetics S.r.L., an Italian company, is the inventor and manufacturer of the patented BioRePeel chemical peels” she explains. “This innovative treatment sets itself apart from other chemical peels due to its unique blend of natural acids, vitamins, and enzymes. When combined with other natural ingredients, it ensures safety and efficacy. A BioRePeel chemical peel procedure can deliver a patient’s desired outcomes, including the reduction of hyperpigmentation (including various types such as melasma, age spots, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation).
“Additionally, it boosts hydration, stimulates collagen production, and reduces the appearance of aging signs. The initial results are visible immediately after application, and the skin undergoes continuous renewal with each passing day. Notably, the procedure is painless, and does not require any downtime for recovery at home.”
As she has emphasized, a specific plan is created for each patient . “First, of course, it is essential to understand that the outcome of a treatment depends on the specific condition being addressed. For instance, acne treatment typically requires a minimum of six months, depending on the stage of the condition, the prescription of specific medications by a dermatologist, and the skin’s ability to heal. Clients will come to us for regular skin cleansing sessions by means of a special machine. This process helps to control the inflammation process and hasten the healing process.
“In addition to cleansing, we recommend several sessions of chemical peels to address post-acne scars and post-acne hyperpigmentation. Each session brings noticeable changes, but the skin undergoes renewal within 28 to 35 days, and the most significant results are achieved during each skin renewal cycle. We assist the process of renovation to progress more quickly and effectively by providing personalized home regimens.”
In addition, special programs are available for teen patients. These focus on hygiene education and confidence building. Small group monthly Q&A sessions create a supportive environment for addressing common teenage skin concerns. Basic rules about choosing cosmetic products and how to apply them, so as to avoid problems such as allergies and dangerous side effects are all discussed. Special packages that focus on teenagers needing assistance regarding acne are also available.
Other patients have other conditions, whether dry, oily, sun-damaged, or aging skin, and appropriate treatments are customized for them. As Nataliya explains, “Hyperpigmentation or melasma is a particularly challenging and longterm treatment condition. It requires several chemical peel applications, and daily home product usage, including sunscreen. The prolonged duration of treatment for hyperpigmentation can be attributed to several factors, including the depth of the pigmentation, the gradual nature of skin cell turnover, and the necessity for multiple sessions to achieve a substantial and uniform result.”
Crucial Role
Length of time and frequency of treatments certainly vary, and as she reports, “Conditions such as rosacea, keratosis pilaris, seborrheic dermatitis, and eczema are lifelong conditions. Through appropriate home care and professional exfoliation treatments provided at our spa, we assist in effectively managing these conditions. However, we also always advise our clients to consult with a dermatologist.”
Nataliya also emphasizes the importance of diet and hydration in skincare. “Nutrition plays a crucial role in various aspects of life. Overall well-being and longevity are directly influenced by our dietary choices and lifestyle, but they also impact the life span of our cells. I was fortunate to be a student of Dr. Walter Willett, who collaborated with other nutritionists at the Harvard T.J. Chan School of Public Health to develop the ‘Healthy Plate’ method.
“The knowledge I acquired during my studies at Harvard has been integrated with the original recipes of the renowned Mediterranean diet. We offer a six-week program that includes a detailed recipe list, guidance on reading food labels, and strategies for combining products to ensure the intake of all essential nutrients. Furthermore, we provide instruction on transition from a sedentary to a comfortable and active lifestyle.
“It is important to note that this program does not include medication prescriptions, diagnosis of illness, injections, or supplements. Hydration is the factor that I discuss personally with every client. In addition to water, it can include coffee, tea, and juice a well. Therefore, we evaluate what a clients drinks, too, as part of overall nutrition.”
Nataliya also points out that “cosmetologists may be able to detect skin cancer. Sometimes, we may find suspicious formations, especially in places not visible to the client, such as the back, behind the ears, etc. We then advise visiting a dermatologist.
“We also use a product recognized and fully FDA-approved for safety, particularly for clients with cancer/post cancer, ensuring peace of mind with every service. We donate and provide free skincare sessions to support the Cancer Organization of West Windsor. We also take part in charities for the Cancer Association.”
Welcoming Space
The spa itself is a welcoming space, light, with attractive treatment rooms, décor, and displays. In addition to Nataliya, another specially trained cosmetologist works with clients.
“There can also be a social aspect in coming here,” reports Nataliya. Often, two clients will come together, a mother and daughter, two friends, or couples. It’s a social opportunity as well as skin care treatment.”
Special membership plans are available for clients, she adds. “Membership is the best option because the client has financial benefits in terms of discounts and better prices than going for the one-time facial. We can monitor, evaluate, and adjust skin treatments accordingly during the package treatments. We learn how well the skin reacts to every treatment, and we keep detailed records after each treatment. Therefore, membership helps to motivate clients to be more disciplined and consistent, At the same time, our members can always have a consultation or get advice without additional payments. The membership is $165 per month (including consultation, professional skin cleansing, and discounts for home care products.).
“There is no obligation to become a member, of course, and the facial will be done according to all skin concerns, with our high standards. But one session once in a while will not provide long-lasting results. We are a boutique place with a boutique approach to every client, yet our membership prices are competitive in our area.”
Nataliya also notes that gift certificates, birthday skincare sets, and free samples are available to try before purchasing full size products. A gift certificate can be a welcome introduction for someone new to the benefits of facials and professional skincare.
She looks forward to continuing to help clients in their skincare “journeys,” offering professional counsel, procedures, and products. As she says, “Monthly professional treatments, combined with daily home care, yield the best results over time. Our supportive environment, specialized programs, and education opportunities offer clients a unique experience.”
