ActorsNET of Bucks County Presents New Comedy

ActorsNET of Bucks County will present the play Evelyn in Purgatory, by Topher Payne, October 10-26, at the Heritage Center Theatre, 635 North Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville, Pa. The show runs October 10-26.

Directed by Maryalice Rubins-Topoleski, the play is about a group of public school teachers who find themselves in the disciplinary limbo of the “rubber room.” While they await their fate, they form an unlikely alliance, rediscover old passions, and bond over their shared situation. The play is a mix of humor and sharp character observation, exploring the frustrating world of public education and inviting the audience to empathize with the struggles of undervalued public servants.

“We are thrilled to bring this poignant comedy to the stage,” said Maryalice Rubins-Topoleski, ActorsNET’s executive director and director of the production. “The show is not only incredibly funny, but it also provides a meaningful look at the challenges and bonds of those who dedicate their lives to teaching. It’s a heartfelt and relatable story that our audience will love.”

Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. A Saturday, October 18 matinee has been added at 2 p.m.

The 8 p.m. show that day will be a special “pay what you can” night, with tickets as low as $7. Visit actorsnetbucks.org for more information.
