Chandni Vohra wants to help you to feel better.

Owner of the Divya Ayurveda Wellness Center at 134 Franklin Corner Road, Suite 105, in Lawrence Township, she is an advocate of the Ayurveda ancient healing system that originated in India more than 5000 years ago.

“The word ‘Ayurveda’ means ‘Life Science,’” she explains. “It is a natural approach to wellness that recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. It uses natural oils, herbs, and body work to promote overall wellness and treat a variety of health issues.”

Vohra, who was born and raised in India, became interested in Ayurveda at an early age, influenced by her grandmother, who practiced it.

Certified Specialist

“I became a certified specialist in it in India, and then when I came to the U.S. in 1989, I continued my studies here and added to my certification.”

She opened her first wellness center 14 years ago, in Bensalem, Pa., and another in Kendall Park before opening the current location two years ago.

She explains that the treatments can help all ages, including young children, and those with a variety of health conditions and problems.

“We treat a range of issues, including joint pain, such as arthritis; knee, shoulder, neck, and muscle pain; as well as chronic fatigue, insomnia, depression, anxiety and stress, and indigestion, among others, and we work to improve the immune system.”

“Ayurveda’s therapeutic and pain relief techniques are effective in promoting relaxation and relieving stress. Its emphasis on natural remedies and the elimination of dangerous toxins makes it a safe and effective alternative to conventional medicine.”

Vohra does point out that the Ayurveda treatments do not replace conventional medicine, but can supplement medical treatment.

Best Treatments

When a client comes into the wellness Center, Vohra has an initial consultation to discuss the client’s needs.

“We offer a very special consultation where we hear your problem, learn about and understand your condition, then advise you, and offer the best treatments and herbal supplements that are most appropriate for your needs.”

Treatments cover a wide spectrum, and as Vohra points out, “Our clients come for such a variety of different reasons that we take great care to determine the best individual treatment. Some people may have skin conditions, others have hair loss, problems with the immune system including chronic fatigue, constant colds, allergies, and stomach difficulties; still others could have weight gain, stress eating, or lack of appetite, and severe headaches. It really varies.”

As she emphasizes, the treatments are personalized for each client’s individual needs, and the use of herbal oils and therapeutic massage are essential components. Also, some of the therapies include herbal supplements and detoxification digestive methods.

Different Needs

Vohra adds that a selection of different packages is also available. “We offer curated packages for different needs, and mixing together treatments and additional add-ons can be beneficial.”

The time of sessions varies depending on the treatment, with a minimum of one hour, but they can often last an hour and a half, two hours, or even longer.

“Helping people feel good and relaxed during the treatment is important,” she explains. “My assistants are certified specialists in Ayurveda, and will provide expert therapy.”

She reports that the best results depend on multiple treatments, often seven, 14, 21, or even more. “This is a healing process, and sometimes people come once a week, once a month, or even every day. Actually, you can experience improvement even after one session. You will have more energy, and feel more relaxed.

Healing System

“We also give advice about nutrition, fasting, the importance of hydration, and exercise, especially walking,” she adds.

Yohra is pleased and encouraged that more people are discovering the benefits of the Ayurveda healing system, and she looks forward to introducing more clients to the process.

“I want to educate more people about our prevention holistic wellness opportunity. At its core, Ayurveda teaches us to live in harmony with ourselves and our environment, emphasizing the importance of self-care, healthy eating, and mindful living.

“We are committed to delivering an authentic Ayurvedic experience that nurtures your body, mind, and soul. Trust us to guide you on your wellness journey, and experience the transformative power of Ayurveda.”
