To the Editor:

I’m writing this letter in support of Mark Freda’s candidacy for mayor of Princeton.

My perspective on Mark is different from that of the many others who I am sure will endorse him in that it’s informed by more than 10 years as Mark’s next-door neighbor.

Over that decade I was a daily witness to Mark’s character, work ethic, sense of community, and deep love and respect for the town of Princeton.

Through snow storms, hurricanes, power outages too numerous to count, and many other “minor disasters,” I observed a person who cares for his community, who puts others first, and who helps those in need without being asked. I also observed a person who is a natural leader, a clear communicator, and an advocate for others.

In my opinion, combining these traits with Mark’s demonstrated professional success, considerable past public sector experience, and, most importantly, his clear vision for the future of Princeton make him an excellent candidate for mayor of Princeton.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Mark’s candidacy.
