Westminster Groups Present Joint Concert
ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS: Ruth Ochs is the conductor of the Westminster Community Orchestra when it pairs with the Westminster Community Chorus, led by Sinhaeng Lee, at a concert May 17.
Westminster Community Orchestra, conducted by Ruth Ochs, and Westminster Community Chorus, conducted by Sinhaeng Lee, will present a concert titled “Remember Her Name” on Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. in the Princeton Meadow Church and Event Center in West Windsor.
The program will showcase works for chorus and orchestra in multiple combinations, and feature music of reflection, inspiration, and renewal. A highlight will be the world premiere of Remember Her Name by Louis A. Josephson, commemorating the life of Samantha Josephson. Other works include Brahms’ Regina coeli, Mozart’s Ave verum corpus, Ešenvalds’ Who can Sail without the Wind?, Brant Adams’ Musica!, Mendelssohn’s Verlieh uns Frieden and “Be Not Afraid” from Elijah, Franck’s Panis angelicus, Ravel’s “The Fairy Garden” from Mother Goose Suite, and the finale from Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2.
Now in its 31st season, the Westminster Community Orchestra includes professional and amateur musicians from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Westminster Community Chorus provides an opportunity for high school singers and adults in the community to share the pleasure of choral singing. The chorus is open to amateur singers from beginning to advanced.
