A
forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local
and national issues Question
of the Week: "What
are your feelings about the events of September 11th being tied
into the speeches at the Republican National Convention?"

"Well,
being that I worked three blocks from the World Trade Centers,
I experienced it. It was a huge event. Maybe the Republican Party
overemphasized it to some point, but it was a terrible tragedy
and a major event in this country." Bill
Biempica, Mansgrove Road

"After
what happened to the Russian children, to me, being a mom, security
is our number one issue. So I think that September 11th is quite
relevant for discussion of who is to be our commander-in-chief."
Tracey Atkins, Jefferson Road

"I
think that the Republicans did very well. Their approach was very
even-handed, considering the circumstances, and I am pleased to
see that they are having a bounce in their ratings at this point."
Everett Garretson, Fairway Drive
"The
Republicans are making quite an issue of how wonderful a president
he was with the September 11th emergency. And that makes me feel
very strong about it, and our friend Kerry feels very strong about
his military service, and now the voters have to pick who they
go for." Phil Seydel, Fairway Drive
" I think it's a good way to get sympathy for
the Republican Party, seeing how much they want to help and build
support and I guess whatever it takes to win that is what
people will do." Danny Brown, Witherspoon
Street (Lt. Engine 1, Princeton Fire Company)
