A Community Bulletin

The Coalition for Peace Action and the Princeton United Methodist Church will co-sponsor a free, multi-media presentation entitled “On the Ground in Afghanistan: A Firsthand Account of a Nation in Conflict,” on Wednesday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m., at the Princeton United Methodist Church, located at the intersection of Vandeventer and Nassau Streets (enter the door on Nassau Street closest to the intersection). The presentation will include a power point presentation and talk by United Methodist Church Board of Global Ministries Executive Secretary for Human Rights, David Wildman. Princeton Day School (PDS) will host the sixth annual New Jersey Gay-Straight Alliance Forum from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. Co-sponsored by Princeton’s HiTOPS Adolescent Heath and Education Center; the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) of Central New Jersey; and PDS, the event is expected to draw more than 250 young people and adults.

VolunteerConnect, formerly known as HandsOn Helpers, will mark the launch of its new name and redesigned web site on October 26, “Make a Difference Day 2009.” A free, special forum on how public, non-profit, and corporate entities can work together to raise the level of volunteerism in greater Mercer County will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Mercer Room, Daly’s Dining Hall, at Rider University.
