Rob Toresco knew that he was going to get hammered but he didn't care.

The Princeton University junior running back saw the pass coming from quarterback Jeff Terrell in the third quarter last Friday night and he sensed a Brown defensive back waiting to punish him at the goal line.

Gathering in the pass, Toresco absorbed a tremendous hit, getting the wind knocked out of him as he landed in the end zone with the touchdown that put Princeton ahead 10-3.

PU Women's Hockey Opening Season at BC, Looking to Build on Last Year's Success

Last winter, a core of determined seniors helped carry the Princeton University women's hockey team to unprecedented heights.

Sparked by Sarah Butsch, Roxie Gaudiel, Chrissie Norwich, and co-captains Tarah Clark and Heather Jackson, Princeton went 21-8-4, winning the Ivy League title and making the program's first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.

While Princeton head coach Jeff Kampersal knows that quintet will leave a void, he is confident that the team's Class of 2007 can pick up the baton.

Utilizing the character and conditioning resulting from that kind of diligence, Hun broke open a tight game at Blair last Saturday, scoring the last 21 points of the contest as it rolled to a 35-13 victory.

Stuart Cross Country Falls in Patriot Meet But Frosh Passano Takes Individual Title

By Bill Alden

Alex Passano clocked a pedestrian 24:56 time over five kilometers in her debut this fall with the Stuart Country Day cross country team.

Last Wednesday at the Patriot Conference championship meet, the fast-improving Passano flew over the 5k course at Gladstone in 21:49 to place first in the competition.

While Stuart failed in its bid to win its eighth straight Patriot team title, Passano's effort was emblematic of how the Tartans pushed to get the most out of their potential.
