Michael P. Henderson, son of Jane P. Henderson of Lawrenceville, and Michael P. Henderson of Skillman and a 2007 graduate of Lawrence High School of Lawrenceville, graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May. During an eight-week training program, Mr. Henderson completed a vigorous curriculum of academics and practical instruction on water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship skills, first aid, fire fighting, and marksmanship. He joins the 36,000 men and women who comprise the Coast Guard.

Gabriel Kuris, son of Ellen and Jay Kuris and a 1999 graduate of Princeton Day School, has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for 2008. Mr. Kuris, a 2003 graduate of Yale College, and a 2007 graduate of Harvard Law School, received the award for creative writing in Cambodia, where he will explore the impact of the genocide trials on society.
