BIBLIOTECTURE: This rendering depicts the new edifice that will be built to replace Speer Library on the Princeton Theological Seminary’s (PTS) campus. The Regional Planning Board recently approved plans for the Seminary to demolish their current library and build a purposefully designed structure that will be integrated with Luce Library. Einhorn, Yaffee, and Prescott (EYP) of Boston are the architects for the the 92,000 square foot building project, and EwingCole of Philadelphia are the engineers. With the current PTS collection totaling over 600,000 texts, the new library will have the capacity to house one million paper volumes. The project is part of a $100 million campaign to celebrate the school’s bicentennial in 2012.
