Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

"This year's $76 million school budget means property tax increases in the Borough and Township. Do you have any comments about this, and will you be voting on April 17th?"

"Are our children worth it? Without question! It is a message to other communities that we value our children. I would add that we need to not simply increase out spending, but to seek efficiencies in the system. Will I be voting, without a doubt!"

Silvana Navarro-Clark, Prospect Avenue

"I support it — we should try to keep our schools to be as good as possible. I will be voting."

Susan Kanter, Christopher Drive

"My children are not involved in this issue, because they are grown-ups and did not go to Princeton schools. Nevertheless, I believe that what should be done for local education is relevant even though it does not feather my nest. On the other hand, Princeton taxes are too high and I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

Steve Lawrence, Mountain Avenue

"The budget increase seems to be for fixed expenditures such as salaries and benefits, so it seems that we are locked in to the budget, since it would be difficult to change. I will be voting."

Josh Lichtblau, Leabrook Lane
