RESTORED: Township representatives, members of the Friends of Princeton Open Space, the contractor and project consultants gathered at the restored stone and masonry upper dam at Mountain Lakes to close the outflow valve. The valve closing will allow the cleared and dredged upper lake to refill and marks the completion of that segment of the project. Work remaining at Mountain Lakes includes the rehabilitation of the lower dam and the upper settling pond, which are planned to be completed in early 2012. The $3.2 million rehabilitation project was started in July 2010 and is made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
