A Community Bulletin

The Borough of Princeton recently installed eleven new bike racks in the central business district along Nassau Street, Witherspoon Street, Hulfish Street, and the Albert Hinds Community Plaza. The new racks were partially funded by donations from local merchants. With the rising cost of fuel, the Borough is encouraging the use of bicycles as an alternate means of transportation. The Borough plans to install additional bike racks in various locations later this summer.

The Princeton Township Police have issued a “friendly reminder,” alerting residents to the fact that, although summer is the time for vacations and fun in the sun, it is also a time when burglaries occur. “We urge our residents to make sure that all doors and windows are locked and that light timers are set in different rooms and at different times prior to leaving the home,” said the press release. “Make notifications to temporarily stop deliveries of mail, packages, newspapers etc, and when possible, make arrangements with neighbors if you are expecting deliveries to be made in your absence and for someone to check on the house periodically.” For additional information call Detective Corporal Arthur S. Villaruz at (609) 921-2100, ext. 316.

Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello recently announced that the Clerk’s Office has converted a portion of its public access counter to better serve those with disabilities. Located in the Old Courthouse at 209 South Broad Street in Trenton, the office is open from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesdays until 6:30 p.m.
