Courtney Elizabeth Nolan and Saul Michael Pollack

Nolan-Pollack. Courtney Elizabeth Nolan, daughter of John and Joyce Nolan of Chevy Chase, Md., to Saul Michael Pollack, son of Stuart and Linda Pollack of Pasadena, Md., April 25 at Mt. Airy Mansion in Upper Marlboro, Md. The Reverend Janet Vincent and Rabbi Lewis Solomon performed the ceremony.

The bride, a 1997 graduate of Princeton High School, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Communications from Washington and Lee University. She is currently the Manager of Partner Relations with Positive Coaching Alliance in Chicago, Ill.

Mr. Pollack is a 1997 graduate of Chesapeake High School, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and is presently a project manager with Norcon, Inc. in Chicago.


Michael Lewis and Susannah Falk Shopsin

Shopsin-Lewis. Susannah Falk Shopsin of New York City and Michael Lewis of Princeton were married on Saturday, June 13 in a private civil ceremony by Ms. Shopsin’s cousin, Judge Phyllis Bamberger.

Following the ceremony the couple had a celebration at the Modern restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art with their five adult children and their spouses, Ms. Shopsin’s siblings, and a few close friends.

Mrs. Lewis, 65, is a psychoanalyst with a private practice in New York City. She attended the University of Pittsburgh, Sarah Lawrence College, and the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her B.A. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. Mrs. Lewis will retain her name for professional purposes, but will use Lewis socially.

Dr. Michael Lewis, 72, is University Distinguished Professor at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, where he also heads the Institute for the Study of Child Development. He has lived in Princeton for more than 40 years and has two children, Benjamin and Felicia, who attended Princeton High School before going to Brown and Yale. He is the 2009 winner of the Urie Bronfenbrenner Award for Lifetime Contribution to Developmental Psychology in the Service of Science and Society given by the American Psychological Association. As a scientist he is considered one of the most referenced developmental psychologists in the country, ranking in the top 2 percent of the field.

The couple will live in New York City, Princeton, and their country home in Narrowsburg, N.Y.
