Organizer of CASA Children's Art Sale Thanks Artists, Volunteers, and Buyers

To the Editor:

I would like to thank everyone who helped to make my annual Children's Art Sale for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates of Mercer County, Inc.) on June 23 such a success. I want to thank my friends who made art and helped to sell the art; Mrs. Capon and Mrs. Hackett, who run the Do Something Club at Littlebrook School and organized a meeting for students to make and donate art to my sale; and my art teacher, Mrs. Mills, for donating the use of her art room.

I also want to thank Mark McCoy and Christopher Magro of Sovereign Bank, who allowed me to hold the art sale in front of the bank, and who agreed to match all donations made to CASA. I also want to thank all of the CASA representatives who volunteered their time at my sale. I especially want to thank everyone who bought art or made a donation.

Quark Park Organizers Eye Completion by Surpassing Financial Threshold

To the Editor:

Albert Einstein said "Where the world ceases to be the scene of our personal hopes and wishes, where we face it as free beings, admiring, asking, and observing, there we enter the realm of Art and Science."

Quark Park embodies the spirit of these words. The park will serve as a festival of visual delights for greater understanding and awareness at the community level. We hope it will be embraced by all. A visit to this garden will make you think, it will make you smile and it will lift you to a wholly different level by taking complex, life changing concepts and discoveries and breaking them down into sculptures and designs in a garden setting. How can we, as a community, not afford to have such a transformative educational and recreational landscape garden in our town?

In general, if it were not for private philanthropy we would not explore the deep frontiers of art or science. Specifically, were it not for the leadership gifts of Trillium Corporation, the MacLean Agency, our generous fund-raising hosts, and 80 blessed donors, Quark Park would not be a reality nearing completion on the immediate horizon. These 84 friends of Quark Park have donated $25,000; we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

We need to raise $25,000 more to complete our project. We ask for your support and we ask you to ask your friends for support. There is a need in our town for this festival that celebrates the richness of our culture and the unique visions of our fellow artists and scientists. We promise you a special event that will be shared and enjoyed by all citizens. Please make a donation to help us bring this gift to Princeton.

Donations are fully tax deductible. You can mail a check, made out to "Quark Park, c/o World Hope Foundation" to PO Box 545, Princeton, NJ 08542. Or you can go to our Web site at www.quarkpark.org and select the donations tab and make a donation with your credit card. Or you can donate concrete, lumber, fabric or lighting in kind.

While you are at the Web site, take a tour of progress photos, visit the names of the those donors who got us started, look at the design drawings, read about the featured teams, imagine spending a summer evening or fall afternoon transformed and charmed by Quark Park. And as Professor Einstein suggested, admire, ask and observe because you will have entered the realm of Art & Science.
