Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

"What are your thoughts about sending 20,000 more troops to Iraq?"

"I think that it is a grand effort to send in more troops, but it would never work unless they send 150,000 more. It is a waste of time, money and probably human lives, unfortunately. It is a quagmire that this small amount of men won't solve."

Drew Griffiths, West Windsor

"My concern is that we do not have the information to make an intelligent decision. We do not have the criteria, the facts that are really pertinent to that kind of decision. I also wonder if the politicians who make such a big deal out of both sides of this issue have the information as well. I would refrain from making a judgement on this question and we have to leave it in the hands of those people who do have the criteria and facts to examine the alternatives."

Bruce Keller, Kingston

"It is an asinine thing to do and it was an asinine thing to be there in the first place. If anyone wants to know the real reason we are there just follow the money."

John Calu, Route 1

"A military solution is not the right course of action. We should be doing more on a political level. Sending in more soldiers is going to continue solving problems through violence rather than trying to do things in a more rational way."

Michael LaRiccia, Lawrence Drive

"I strongly oppose sending additional troops. I am against this war. I would like very much to bring our men and women back home as quickly as possible."

Jill Turndorf, Montgomery
