Julia Brav, a 2004 graduate of Princeton High School and the daughter of Peter and Janet Brav of Princeton, was named in an international competition as the pianist and one of the five Sisters in Jazz Collegiate All-Stars of the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE). She will perform with the newly formed quintet during the 35th Annual IAJE Conference in Toronto in January. Ms. Brav, who was cited in the June 2007 issue of Downbeat Magazine for her “College Outstanding Performance” on piano, is a member of the University Jazz Ensemble at Princeton University.


Princeton resident Leah Black has earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Thomas Edison State College. Ms. Black, who emigrated to the U.S. from Trinidad and Tobago eight years ago, has been providing medical care to babies since coming to work for Capital Health System’s Mercer Campus in 2002. A graduate of Mercer County College, Ms. Black plans to pursue a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) and become an independent nurse practitioner in pediatrics or neonatology.
