Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

“What types of activities would you like to see at Updike Farmstead in the future?”

“Events for toddlers, a place where children can get in contact with bunnies and chicks.”

Debby Freeman, Lawrenceville

“Wine tasting, an outdoor stage for plays or concerts, a writers series where global authors come speak at the farm.”

Eve and Ken Mandel, Yardley, Pa.

“Art classes where you can paint with natural paints. Also, games like hide and seek and tag.”

Peter Delaney, Princeton

Alicia: “Activities that you can learn about what life was like living on the farm in its day. Family life, cooking and meals that were served, demonstrations with the animals that were a part of the farm. A petting zoo would be nice for children.”
Robert: “Science exhibits.”

Alicia Brennan-Lis and Robert Lis, Princeton

“We would like people to take advantage of the Updike farm and realize the significance of the area. Eventually, there will be bike and walking paths. We want this to be a site for learning about the history of the area, to take part in multi disciplinary programs in both visual and performing arts. We want the community to come and use the site and take advantage of the freedom of the farm i.e. bird watching groups, the Watercolor Society, book clubs.”
